White paper: Building a sustainable future

A global movement is on the rise demanding not just a more sustainable world, but one that requires re-invention. Discover more in our white paper now.

Green is the color of the future:

A ‘green’ building as defined by the World Green Building Council is a building that, in its design, construction or operation, reduces or eliminates negative impacts, and can create positive impacts, on our climate and natural environment. Green buildings preserve precious natural resources and improve our quality of life. How a building’s green credentials are measured are framed by recognized global initiatives.

Various international organizations are active in certifying green buildings. They guarantee the sustainability credentials of a building or the products used.

Following certifications are popularly used:

  • LEED: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and is run by US Green Building Council.
  • BREEAM: Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method, is the worlds’ longest established method of certifying green buildings, run by the BRE (UK).
  • Greenstar (Australia)
  • HQE (France)
  • WELL
  • GRIHA (India)

Stand-out product performance is measured through an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), an independently verified analysis of a product’s impact on the environment throughout its lifetime, from initial manufacture to its end-of-life disposal or recycling. Interpon D is the first range of powder coating in the world to be EPD verified.
